Abstract
Summary
The capacity of a polyoma virus strain to stimulate transplantation immunity in adult hamsters against tumor cells induced by the same strain was significantly increased by allowing the virus to proliferate in hamster embryo cells for 4-7 days. The high immuno-genic capacity was lost by a further growth cycle in mouse cells, suggesting that host modification of some viral character may have taken place.
