Summary

As low as 100 μc Ca⁴⁵ administered either at 4 or 8 days of incubation produced broken or fractured bones in chicken embryos. This same level of Sr⁹⁰-Y⁹⁰ was less effective than Ca⁴⁵ producing these fractures when administered at 8 days of incubation. The changes produced by Ca⁴⁵ injected at 14 days of incubation, Sr⁹⁰-Y90 at 4 and 14 days and Pm¹⁴⁷ injected at 4, 8 and 14 days were developmental abnormalities frequently produced with external irradiation.
