Abstract
Conclusion
The intrarectal instillation of specific antigen (crystalline egg albumin) in sensitized rabbits may induce a “colitis” in the distal colon, previously exposed to a mild formalin solution, to increase capillary permeability locally. The “Auer colitis” develops presumably on the basis of an antigen-antibody reaction.
