Summary
Auditory stimuli in the audio-range are ineffective in inducing infertility and blockage of pregnancy in deaf rats by damage of the organ of Corti in the inner ear following administration of kanamycin.
The authors are indebted to Dr. Joseph E. Hawkins, Jr., New York University-Bellevue Medical Center, and to Dr. M. Feinmesser, Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center, Jerusalem, Israel, for their kind advice, and to Bristol Laboratories International Corp., Syracuse, N. Y. for a generous supply with kanamycin.
