Summary
The influence of varying numbers of suckling young on the number of cells (DNA) and protein synthetic activity (RNA and RNA/DNA) was determined in abdominalinguinal mammary glands of rats lactating 21 days. The data indicated that mammary gland development and secretory activity increased as the number of suckling young per mother rat increased.
