Summary
Increased concentrations of 5-hydroxytryptamine were found in the pyloric mucosa of dogs after hepatectomy, establishment of Eck's fistula, or obstruction of the jejunum. In dogs with intestinal obstruction, no change occurred in the concentration of 5-hydroxytryptamine in blood or in brain or of 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid in urine.
