Abstract
Summary
The flow rate and composition of lymph from the thoracic duct of rats were obtained before and after ligation of the cisterna chyle. Changes in flow rate after ligation of the cisterna chyle show that approximately 90% of the lymph in the thoracic duct is derived from the peritoneal area and lower extremities. Changes in the composition of the lymph indicate that the lymph from the thoracic area is high in globulin material.
