Abstract
Conclusions
1. Sulfaguanadine, administered in the diet for one to four months, does not result in degranulation of the convoluted tubules of the rat submaxillary gland, even when potentiated by massive doses of sodium iodide. Degranulation results, however, when sulfaguanidine administration follows incomplete surgical thyroidectomy. 2. Alterations in absolute or relative submaxillary gland weight correlate poorly with histologic changes in the convoluted granular tubules.
