Abstract
Summary
Rats subjected to hemorrhagic shock, when given a vasoexcitatory synthetic polypeptide, PLV-2, showed increased survival rates. The mechanism(s) involved in the beneficial action of this drug cannot yet be precisely identified but may be related to a limited vasoconstrictor action as evidenced by a plateau-like pattern of the blood pressure response to its administration.
