Abstract
Summary
The role of fatty acids in the elaboration of bacterial phospholipase D in incubations of fresh human plasma has been studied. An optimal amount of fatty acid could be specified, dependent on the amount and type of protein present. Enzyme activity was greater in the presence of cephalin (PE) than lecithin, oleic acid than palmitic acid, and globulin than albumin.
