Abstract
Summary
The effect of bacitracin, novobiocin, gentian violet and vancomycin upon organisms known to be L forming bacteria was studied. L phase growth could not be produced although protoplast formation occurred in liquid media. It is concluded that these agents cannot act solely by interference with cell wall biosynthesis.
