Abstract
Summary
The influence of cortisol on glucose uptake by rat granuloma tissue was examined in various media. No inhibitory effects were observed, whether the hormone was administered to the granuloma donors 2 or 24 hours before sacrifice, or was added in vitro. No support was obtained for the concept that corticoids may retard granuloma growth by inhibiting glucose uptake.
