Abstract
Summary
Naphthalene-disulfonic acids, acidic dyes, and numerous surfactants dissolve fibrin “s” at low concentrations. Human plasma inhibits some surfactants, does not affect others, and enhances markedly the activity of a third group. Of the amphoteric surfactants, Deriphat 160-C dissolved fibrin “s” and, in contrast to other surfactants, induced enzymatic fibrinolytic activity in human plasma.
