Summary
A technique is described for chronic catheterization of the coronary sinus in dogs, permitting a constant rate of sampling coronary sinus blood in states of normalcy and stress. This method, in combination with arterial blood samples and left coronary inflow, permits quantitative measurement of changes in left ventricular metabolism in chronic unanesthetized dogs.
