Abstract
Summary
Peripheral blood was obtained from 19 patients with measles. Virus was isolated (employing primary cultures of human amnion cells) from the washed leucocytic fraction of blood of 10 of 11 patients in the first 24 hours of the exanthem and of 1 of 8 patients in the second 24 hours of the exanthem. It is suggested that this procedure may prove effective in the isolation of other viruses from the blood.
