Abstract
Summary
Assay of lysozyme activity in homogenates of kidney of irradiation chimeras has shown that a marked increase in activity is associated with the presence of grafted homologous bone marrow. This increase began about 3 days after injection of the marrow cells, reached its peak 20–40 days and returned to normal 100–200 days after treatment. A significant increase in weight of kidney, maximal at 9 days after treatment, was observed in the animals given homologous bone-marrow cells.
