Abstract
Summary
Mice treated with a RES-stimulating agent (restim) were less susceptible than control mice to subsequent infection with opsonized S. typhimurium cells. A similar enhancement of resistance was observed when restim-treated mice were challenged with bacterial cells exposed to EDTA rather than antibody. Preliminary results indicate an increase in lysozyme in the blood of restim-treated mice.
