Summary
Oral administration of 22,25-diazacholestanol dihydrochloride to rats caused striking lowering of cholesterol and significant accumulation of desmosterol in the serum, liver and adrenals. The findings are similar to those in humans and suggest a triparanol-like mechanism of action.
