Summary
The concentration of free HCl was found to be significantly decreased in the gastric juice of rats eating a potassium deficient diet. Total 4-hour secretion of free HCl, chloride, potassium, magnesium and pepsin was also significantly decreased but secretion rates of phosphorus, sodium and calcium were not altered.
