Summary
An investigation of certain physical and biochemical aspects of osteodystrophy in chicks treated with hemin revealed a significant decrease in serum and bone alkaline phosphatase activity. In addition, feathering was abnormal. No change in per cent bone ash was observed. Possible relationship to known nutrient deficiency symptoms is discussed.
