Abstract
Summary
Neuraminidase treatment of orosomucoid from human plasma results in an increase in the antigenicity of the glycoprotein in rabbits. Native and desialized orosomucoid react in a qualitatively and quantitatively similar manner with antibodies to the normal or desialized antigen. Thus the sialic acid, though a terminal sugar, is not an important determinant antigenic group.
