Abstract
Summary
1. Intravenous injection of tyramine in man causes elevation of blood pressure and TPR, but inconsistent effects on CO and pulse rate. Changes in the site of impulse formation and conduction were seen in the ECG. 2. The reproducibility of the tyramine response was studied in 18 subjects to assess its value as a test of tissue catecholamine stores. 3. The dose-response relationship of the pressor effect of tyramine was determined.
