Abstract
Summary
1. ACTH and angiotensin II clearly differ in their effects on adrenal ascorbic acid in hypophysectomized rats. ACTH depletes adrenal ascorbic acid, whereas angiotensin II does not. 2. This difference can be used to determine the presence of ACTH in biological fluids or extracts which stimulate steroidogenesis by the adrenal cortex.
