Summary
Citrus pectin with a methoxyl content of 10.7% when fed at a 5% level in the diet largely counteracted the increment in plasma and liver cholesterol and liver total lipids induced by cholesterol feeding in the rat but was without significant effect in the cholesterol-fed rabbit, guinea pig and hamster.
