Summary
Iron absorption and total body retention was measured in rats using radio-iron59 and a whole-body liquid scintillation counter. Whole-body liquid scintillation counting provides an efficient and reliable method of assaying small quantities of γ-emitting nuclides in live animals and biologic specimens.
