Abstract
Summary
Studies were carried out in rats during antidiuresis and during diuresis produced by urea, water and alcohol. Animals were killed and their kidneys removed for microscopical examination. During antidiuresis the appearance of the epithelium of the collecting tubules was very similar to that found during osmotic diuresis but completely different from that seen during water and alcohol diuresis. It is suggested that the changes found may be related to presence or absence of antidiuretic hormone.
