Marked hour to hour and day to day fluctuations in plasma iron levels were observed in normal mongrel dogs. It was not possible to demonstrate a factor in the plasma of dogs with subcutaneous turpentine abscesses that was capable of producing hypoferremia in normal recipient dogs.
