Summary
Rats fed a stock diet supplemented with graded amounts of raw pancreas exhibited retarded growth and a marked hypertrophy of the salivary glands, effects which were proportional to the level of pancreas fed. These effects did not occur when heated pancreas or other raw tissues were fed.
