Summary
Addition of sodium phenylpyruvate to rat brain slices incubated in vitro with glucose resulted in an increase in brain phenylalanine with a decrease in concentration of aspartic acid, glutamic acid and glutamine. The concentration of other brain amino acids was not affected.
