Summary
A plaque method of assaying myxoma virus infectivity on SRK and RK monolayer cultures has been described. The validity of this method was established by the demonstration of a linear dose-response relationship and by the observation of an infective particle distribution in suspension which agrees with the theoretical Poisson distribution. The specificity of the assay was confirmed by neutralization test and the sensitivity found to be equal to that of the in vivo rabbit assay.
