Summary
Accelerated O2 uptake of rabbit erythrocytes was measured in the presence of methylene blue and glucose during changes in erythrocyte water content. Although dependent upon substrate concentration, temperature, and pH, O2 uptake was independent of rather large changes in cell water content.
