Abstract
Summary
Renal disposal of m and p nitro and amino hippuric acids was examined in the dog. Administration of sodium bicarbonate did not change urinary excretion of PAH, but increased that of the other compounds. The latter may undergo tubular re-absorption, in accord with their greater lipoid solubility. The 4 substances do not differ in their maximal rates of tubular excretory transport.
