Abstract
Summary
Fractionation of autoclaved liver extract with respect to a component essential for conversion of mevalonic acid to cholesterol by RNAase-treated homogenates of liver has led to the isolation of RNA. It is concluded on the basis of comparative activity of liver extract and the RNA isolated from it that the RNA represents one moiety of a more complex component, presumably a ribonucleoprotein, less susceptible to the action of RNAase.
