Summary
Under standardized conditions the formation of soluble collagen has been followed in uterine slices. Maximal incorporation of radioactivity under the conditions stated has been achieved by 1.250 μc of C14-lysine for an incubation period of 6 hours in Krebs-Henseleit solution at 37°C, with a pH range between 7.35 and 7.45 and an atmosphere of 95% oxygen and 5% CO2.
