Summary
Ki values for inhibition of MAO in vitro by 122 psychotropic compounds have been determined. At inhibitor concentrations close to or below the Ki value, the inhibition was competitive. MAO-inhibitors were found among tranquilizers, energizers and hallucinogens. The only correlation between MAO inhibition and psychotropic effects that could be found was within a chemical series.
