Summary
Thromboplastic and fibrinolytic activity was estimated in layers of large human vessels. Arterial intima has higher thromboplastic and lower plasminogen activator concentrations (usually zero) than the intima of large systemic veins (vena cava inf.). In all vessels adventitia has high fibrinolytic activity.
