Abstract
Summary
A reciprocal relationship between phosphorylase and UDPG-glycogen transglucosylase activity has been demonstrated by a histochemical technic in individual fibers of resting rat skeletal muscle. In general, polysaccharide formed from glucose-1-phosphate was deposited in the large (white) type of fiber and that from UDPG in the small (red) fibers.
