Abstract
Summary
Injection of protein antigens in complete Freund's adjuvant into the footpads of guinea pigs produces a hypersensitivity which induces allergic reactions in the cornea both during the delayed and Arthus phases of the allergic response. This corneal reaction is similar to the intracutaneous delayed type in that its specificity is oriented toward the protein portion of a conjugate and not toward the hapten.
