Abstract
Summary
Human plasma, red blood cells, plasma protein fractions and a hemoglobin preparation were found to inhibit lipolytic activity of a microbiological lipase preparation when an olive oil emulsion was used as substrate. Human serum albumin, which was inhibitory in proportion to its concentration, was not inhibitory when triacetin was used as substrate. Hydrolysis of the olive oil emulsion by pork pancreatic extract was not inhibited by human plasma, red blood cells or albumin.
