Abstract
Summary
Increased aerobic and anaerobic glycolysis occurred in brains of tumbled (fettered) rats in shock. The Pasteur reaction was significantly decreased. This indicates an increased anaerobiosis in the brain tissue as a consequence of shock with con-comitantly decreased yield of high energy phosphate. Glycogen content of brain is also significantly decreased in shock.
