Abstract
Summary
Samples of the blood from pregnant women shortly before delivery, placentas at full term and cord blood, were analyzed for fluorine. All subjects drank from the same water source which contained about 0.55 ppm fluorine. The results suggest that the placenta plays an active role in accumulation of fluorine and its transfer to the fetus.
