Summary
Several penicillins were tested in vitro for their activity against penicillinase-producing and nonpenicillinase-producing strains of Staphylococcus aureus, with particular reference to the effect of the size of the inoculum. Marked differences were demonstrated, depending on the type of penicillin, the strain of staphylococcus and the size of the inoculum.
