Abstract
Summary and Conclusions
The isolation of 7 new staphylococcal phages is described: 5 of them appear to be quite distinct and specific and the other 2 are related to the 80, 81 phages. With the 5 new and specific phages and one of the others it was possible to type 73% of 158 strains which were recently isolated from infected lesions, nontypable with the conventional set of phages and most of them resistant to the most frequently used antibiotics. These new phages may, therefore, prove useful for phage typing of pathogenic staphylococci.
