Summary
Removal of the ischemic kidney of hypertensive rats but not ureteral ligation, induces a marked fall in blood pressure and a significant decrease in aorta potassium content. It is suggested that the ischemic kidney elaborates a substance which induces hypertension and also increases potassium content of arterial tissue.
