Summary
Data suggest that major pathway of glucose oxidation in growing cultures of A. niger was via gluconate. The citric acid cycle played a minor role in young mycelium and inhibitory action of DNB appeared to involve further depression of formation of citric acid cycle intermediates with consequent decrease in rate of amino acid biosynthesis.
