Abstract
Summary
Propagation of trachoma virus (SA-2 strain) in McCoy cells was shown by 1) appearance of increased numbers of infected cells with serial passage, 2) infectivity of tissue culture fluids for embryonated chicken eggs, and 3) lack of pathogenicity for mice. The latter characteristic helps to differentiate trachoma from psittacosis viruses (2).
