Abstract
Summary
Ethylvanillic acid (3-ethoxy-4-hydroxybenzoic acid) occurs occasionally in human urine. Its presence follows ingestion of ethylvanillin, a component of some artificial vanilla flavorings. After ingestion of ethylvanillin or of ethylvanillic acid, free ethylvanillic acid, a glucuronide conjugate, and a glycine conjugate are excreted.
