Summary
1. Serum triglycerides and cholesterol were decreased, and fecal bile acids and digitonin precipitable sterols were increased, after injection of heparin in 4 human subjects. 2. Evidence was discussed which indicates that this effect of heparin upon cholesterol metabolism is a secondary phenomenon resulting from maintained reduction of circulating triglycerides.
