Summary
Whole cells and cell-free extracts of Leptospira biflexa have been used to demonstrate a series of transamination reactions. Dialysis against versene was used to show that pyridoxal phosphate served as a coenzyme. The possible importance of transamination in leptospiral metabolism is discussed.
