Abstract
Summary
Although time and dose relationships were different, the response of swine to high doses of radiation was similar to that of guinea pigs and mice. For practical purposes, at doses of 24,000 r and above, incapacitation was complete in these swine. It is conceivable that if these animals possessed cerebral motivation similar to that in man, capabilities might have been greater. At lower doses a striking recovery occurred within 1 to 3 hours after exposure.
